Inspection Training Northwest, not only covers
many subjects involved with home inspection, but also broadens the scope of instruction
to include marketing, forms, contract for service and other topics that will help
you to start and run a successful home inspection business. This is the only
Home Inspector's Course that allows the student to study at home at their own pace
and then attend a classroom training seminar, participate in a field training environment
where they perform hands-on instructor led inspections of real homes. Check
list report forms and other materials are the property of the students and they
may make unlimited copies for their use in their business. The ITNW instructor,
as well as the other instructors, and later the A.I.I.® members, care about your
success and are available to assist you in working toward your professional success,
not just for this class, but also after the classroom training on a continuing
basis.
The Home Study Course includes: 4 DVD's with
10 sections about Home Inspections, Roofing, Home Interiors and Exteriors, Electrical
Systems, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems, Plumbing Systems,
Tools, Techniques for a Complete Home Inspection, a 15 Page Report Form, Home Inspection
Business Plan, Marketing Materials, Easy-to-follow "Steps To Success"
that provides a guide for your study progress, Training Manual, Self-test study
exams, Illustrated Home Reference Manual, Code Check Reference Manual, National
Home Inspector Examination Study Guide and much more. The students from Oregon
also receive a Study Guide for the 5 Part Oregon Inspector Certification Examination
and receive a minimum of 13.5 eligibility points for the Oregon Home Inspector Exam.
There are 3 instructor led home inspections on real homes. The seminar style
classroom portion of the course is conducted in a casual format encouraging questions,
discussion, the exchange of ideas and information and is accentuated by an oral
and visual power point presentation covering the many aspects of many and varied
actual Home Inspection issues. Oral marketing presentations are also encouraged
to prepare the students for presenting themselves to Real Estate Agents, the Lending
Community and to buyer and seller clients. Certificates of course completion
are presented at the conclusion of the training. Home inspection training from a

Jim Corbin, Inspection Training Northwest's Certified Home
Inspector Educator, is a retired Mechanical Engineer from the design, operation,
construction and maintenance side of the Petroleum Industry and is a retired
Lt. Colonel in the USAF. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington
State since 1974 and is certified to perform a variety of home, structural and property
inspections, Commercial Inspections, Manufactured Home Inspections and he is a certified
HUD 203(k) Consultant for HUD/FHA residential rehabilitations. Jim is past
President, Vice President and a member of the Board of Director for the American
Institute of Inspectors and is a Master Inspector. Jim will lead the classes
offered at Inspection Training Northwest.
