About Inspection Training Northwest Instructor

Jim Corbin - Inspection Training Northwest Jim Corbin is a Master Inspector and has been in the professional world his entire career. He is a retired Lt. Colonel in the USAF, a retired Mechanical Engineer and has been a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington State since 1974. He retired from Texaco after working in the design, maintenance and construction areas of Mechanical Engineering for over 27 years. His work with home building, remodeling and design began in his early years when he worked with his father in carpentry. Jim began his Home Inspection Business just prior to retiring from Texaco. He is certified by the American Institute of Inspectors™ to perform Pre-Purchase Home Inspections, Manufactured Home Inspections, Commercial Inspections and Structural Pest and Dry Rot Inspections. Jim is licensed by the State of Washington to perform Structural Pest and Dry Rot Inspections and he is a certified HUD 203 (k) consultant for HUD/FHA residential rehabilitations. Jim has been associated with the American Institute of Inspectors since beginning his Home Inspection Business and is a past President and Vice-President of A.I.I.® and past Board of Director's Member of A.I.I.®. The intensive hands-on training and small class size, to enhance student participation, have been instrumental keys in his goal to training successful, professional Home Inspectors, ready to begin their inspection careers. Jim's professional work is now dedicated to training new inspectors. He is a prior owner of a successful Commercial and Residential Home Inspection business and he is also an expert witness, qualified to testify on issues of home construction and inspections for the court. Running a Home Inspector training business has allowed Jim Corbin to put to use many years of practical skills and expertise.

Students from the Washington State Workforce Training and Education System have attended his course. He is also listed with the Department of Social and Health Services Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the WOIS Career Information System and the Boeing QTTP training program. www.wa.gov/esd/work/programs.htm If you think you qualify for funding assistance, contact the respective organization for information.
