Jim Corbin
is a Master
Inspector and has been in the
professional world his entire career. He
is a retired Lt. Colonel in the USAF, a
retired Mechanical Engineer and has been
a licensed Professional Engineer in
Washington State since 1974. He retired
from Texaco after working in the design,
maintenance and construction areas of
Mechanical Engineering for over 27
years. His work with home building,
remodeling and design began in his early
years when he worked with his father in
carpentry. Jim began his Home Inspection
Business just prior to retiring from
Texaco. He is certified by the American
Institute of Inspectors™ to perform
Pre-Purchase Home Inspections,
Manufactured Home Inspections,
Commercial Inspections and Structural
Pest and Dry Rot Inspections. Jim is
licensed by the State of Washington to
perform Structural Pest and Dry Rot
Inspections and he is a certified HUD
203 (k) consultant for HUD/FHA
residential rehabilitations. Jim has
been associated with the American
Institute of Inspectors since beginning
his Home Inspection Business and is a
past President and Vice-President of A.I.I.® and past
Board of Director's Member of A.I.I.®. The
intensive hands-on training and small
class size, to enhance student
participation, have been instrumental
keys in his goal to training successful,
professional Home Inspectors, ready to
begin their inspection careers. Jim's
professional work is now dedicated to
training new inspectors. He is a prior
owner of a successful Commercial and
Residential Home Inspection business and
he is also an expert witness, qualified
to testify on issues of home
construction and inspections for the
court.
Running a Home Inspector training
business has allowed Jim Corbin to put
to use many years of practical skills
and expertise.
Students from the Washington State
Workforce Training and Education System
have attended his course. He is also
listed with the Department of Social and
Health Services Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation, the WOIS Career
Information System and the Boeing QTTP
training program.
